Most gold and silver IRA reviews stop at two metals. This ranking asks what happens when you want the other two as well. We checked which of the ten companies we track name eligible platinum and palladium products on their own sites, which support a single account split across several metals, and which disclose anything about how each metal is priced. Six qualify. Four sell gold and silver only and are covered at the end.

Three pages on this site rank the same dealers for different buyers, and they are meant to disagree at the edges. Our best gold IRA companies page scores the whole business, fees, custody, service and complaint history, and places Birch Gold Group first at 9.8, Augusta Precious Metals second and Goldco third. Our silver IRA reviews reorder those firms on silver product range, minimums and storage. This page asks a narrower question again: if you want more than two metals in one account, who can actually deliver it, and who tells you enough to check the price?
That question removes four strong companies outright. Augusta Precious Metals, American Hartford Gold, Lear Capital and Patriot Gold Group show gold and silver only for IRAs on their own sites, so they cannot be the best precious metals IRA company for a buyer who wants platinum or palladium, however well they score on gold. It also lifts two firms that sit mid-table overall, Noble Gold and American Bullion, because they name the products a four-metal buyer needs.
Account minimum breaks ties. Our full approach to unpublished figures is on the how we rank page.

Named means the company lists at least one specific IRA product in that metal on its own site, read 5 October 2026: Birch palladium IRA and platinum list; Noble Gold palladium and platinum and fee table; American Bullion palladium IRA and FAQ; Goldco IRA FAQ; Advantage Gold FAQ; Orion palladium products and IRA page.
Birch is the one firm we track that treats each white metal as a product rather than a footnote. Its palladium IRA page sets the 99.95% purity requirement and names the American Palladium Eagle, the Canadian Palladium Maple Leaf and palladium bars and rounds. Its platinum list runs to Platinum Eagles, Platinum Maples and Valcambi and Argor-Heraeus bars, and its silver list is the longest we found. All four sit in one IRA, with a choice of five vaults. It prints representative account fees and states a $5,000 minimum. One small slip shows why reading closely pays: its platinum page gives silver's purity as 99.99%, while its silver page correctly says 99.9%. Read the Birch Gold Group review or visit Birch Gold Group.
Noble's palladium page names a Canadian Palladium Maple Leaf and a 1 oz Credit Suisse palladium bar, both described as .9995 fine, and lists Platinum Eagles, Platinum Maples and Baird platinum bars. Its silver IRA page prints a complete flat schedule: $50 setup, $125 maintenance and $160 storage a year, $250 to close. That combination, named products plus known account costs, is what a mixed-metal buyer needs to compare quotes. Two cautions: the same metals pages mix in numismatic gold and graded Morgan dollars, which do not belong in an IRA, and the minimum is $20,000. Read the Noble Gold review or visit Noble Gold Investments.
American Bullion's FAQ says clients buy "gold, silver, platinum, and/or palladium", and it backs that with platinum IRA and palladium IRA pages naming the Canadian Palladium Maple Leaf and PAMP Suisse palladium bars. Every account goes to STRATA Trust and Delaware Depository, which keeps a mixed account administratively simple; STRATA's Precious Metals Tier is described as holding all four metals. The fee figures on American Bullion's own FAQ, $25 setup and $160 a year, do not match STRATA's current page, $50 setup waived online and $150 a year, so use the custodian's numbers. Minimum: $10,000 recommended. Read the American Bullion review or visit American Bullion.
Goldco's IRA FAQ says gold and silver are the popular choices and that "we also offer platinum and palladium", and it says distributions can be taken in any of the four metals. What we could not find on its pages is a named platinum or palladium product. Its silver catalogue is long and its bonus-silver offer is tied to premium coins, so a mixed account here is likely to be weighted by the promotion rather than by your plan. Overall third on our gold list; fourth here because two of the four metals are a promise rather than a product list. Minimum $25,000. Read the Goldco review or visit Goldco.
Advantage Gold's FAQ is the clearest statement of per-metal standards among the dealers: gold 99.5%, silver 99.9%, platinum and palladium 99.95%, from accredited refiners. It names Equity Trust and STRATA as custodians and Brink's or Delaware as vaults, and its shop carries a 1 oz 999.5 palladium bar. It publishes neither a minimum nor fees, and its silver shop sells 90% coinage without an IRA flag, so confirm eligibility item by item. Read the Advantage Gold review or visit Advantage Gold.
Orion runs product categories for all four metals, with an American Palladium Eagle, a Palladium Maple Leaf proof and bars described as IRA approved, and an in-house IRA desk that helps you pick a custodian and depository. It promises to beat any competitor's advertised price, but shows its own listings with a price on request and publishes no minimum or fees. Good for a comparison quote; hard to evaluate before you call. Read the Orion review or visit Orion Metal Exchange.
A multi-metal account is one self-directed IRA, one custodian and one depository. What changes per metal is the purity bar and the depth of the market you will sell into. Custodians publish the bars: Equity Trust's metals page lists the minimum fineness it accepts for each.
| METAL | MINIMUM FINENESS | COINS ADMITTED BY NAME | WHAT TO ASK THE DEALER |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gold | .995 | American Gold Eagle | Premium over spot on bullion against any proof or graded coin offered. |
| Silver | .999 | American Silver Eagle | The same dollars in 10 oz or 100 oz bars, and the ounce count. |
| Platinum | .9995 | American Platinum Eagle | Same-day buyback price on the exact coin or bar. |
| Palladium | .9995 | None; every product qualifies on purity | Whether the firm will repurchase the product at all, and at what discount. |
Fineness minimums from Equity Trust's precious metals page, read 5 October 2026; named coins from IRC 408(m)(3)(A). The full statutory background is on our 408(m)(3) explainer.
The fee side is reassuringly dull. Custodian administration does not care which metal you hold: STRATA Trust's Precious Metals Tier is $150 a year for an account holding any of the four, though its $175 segregated storage line is stated to apply to gold, platinum and palladium, with silver handled differently at some vaults. The spread side is not dull at all. Platinum and palladium trade in thinner retail markets than gold, so the gap between a dealer's buy and sell price tends to be wider, and a small position pays proportionally more of it. Our palladium IRA and platinum IRA guide covers the eligible products and the case against overweighting them, and our precious metals IRA explainer covers how the account is set up.
If gold and silver are all you want, these four belong on the shortlist and this page's criteria do not apply to them. Augusta Precious Metals, second on our overall list, sells gold and silver only at a $50,000 minimum; its site blocked our October check, so confirm its terms directly. American Hartford Gold, fourth overall, lists only gold and silver in its catalogue, including 10 oz and 100 oz silver bars, at a $10,000 minimum. Lear Capital describes gold and silver on its IRA pages and publishes $315 for the first year and $235 after. Patriot Gold Group shows IRA-eligible gold and silver categories only. For a two-metal account, start with our overall rankings and the comparison chart.
For an account holding more than gold and silver, Birch Gold Group: it is the only company we track with a separate IRA page for each of silver, platinum and palladium, it names specific eligible products in all four metals, prints representative fees and opens at $5,000 per its own FAQ. Noble Gold Investments ranks second for naming .9995 palladium products alongside a published flat fee table, and American Bullion third for dedicated platinum and palladium IRA pages. Verified Oct 2026.
Six of the ten companies we track list platinum and palladium on their own sites as of October 2026: Birch Gold Group, Noble Gold Investments, American Bullion, Advantage Gold, Orion Metal Exchange and Goldco, which states that it offers both without naming products. Augusta Precious Metals, American Hartford Gold, Lear Capital and Patriot Gold Group show gold and silver only for IRAs.
Yes. A single self-directed IRA can hold all four metals with one custodian and one depository, provided each product meets its fineness standard: .995 for gold, .999 for silver and .9995 for platinum and palladium, the minimums Equity Trust publishes for its metals accounts. STRATA Trust's Precious Metals Tier, for example, is described as holding all four metals for a flat $150 a year. You do not need separate accounts per metal.
Not for IRA purchases. None of the six multi-metal companies we rank publishes a price list or a premium over spot for platinum or palladium, and Orion Metal Exchange shows its palladium listings with a price on request. What some do publish is account fees: Birch Gold Group prints representative fees and Noble Gold Investments a full flat schedule. Ask for each metal priced separately, with a same-day buyback quote, before you fund.
We do not recommend allocations, but the cost structure points one way. Account and storage fees are the same whatever you hold, while dealer spreads widen as markets thin, so small platinum or palladium positions pay proportionally more to buy and sell. Many investors keep most of the metals sleeve in gold and silver and size any platinum or palladium position large enough that a wider spread does not dominate it.

Metal lineups, product names, fees and minimums were read on each company's own site on 5 October 2026 and are linked under the comparison table. Augusta Precious Metals blocked retrieval that day and is described from its own pages as archived in May 2026. Where a company publishes nothing, this page says so.
