One of these firms is nine years old and lets you decide whether your bullion sits in Texas or Delaware. The other has been running rollovers since 2006 and puts its energy into what happens when you want out. Both keep their annual pricing off the public record, which changes how this comparison has to be argued, so we argue it on the terms each company will actually stand behind.

Goldco for most people, Noble Gold for the specific person. Goldco scores 9.4 to Noble Gold's 8.8 on our rankings and earns it on the two things a physical-metal buyer regrets ignoring: a named custodian pairing and a documented way out. Noble Gold wins outright on the one thing Goldco cannot match, a genuine choice of depository including a Texas vault, and it opens roughly $5,000 lower. Neither company publishes an annual fee figure, so anyone telling you which is cheaper is guessing.
Read the blanks as carefully as the entries. A cell marked not published is not a criticism of the price behind it, because we have no idea what that price is. It is a statement that you cannot compare these two accounts from a browser, and that both firms have decided you should have to call.

BBB grades and complaint counts are live figures that change; open the linked profiles before you decide. Reported minimums for Noble Gold vary widely across public sources, with $2,000 and $10,000 also in circulation; we rank on approximately $20,000. Confirm current pricing directly with each firm. Full field on our gold IRA comparison chart.
A five thousand dollar difference in minimum sounds like a rounding error until it lands on you. Noble Gold Investments opens at roughly $20,000 and Goldco at roughly $25,000, which means there is a band of retirement savers for whom this entire comparison resolves itself in one line: if your old 401(k) holds $22,000, Goldco is not on your list. Not at a discount, not with a promotion, not after a persuasive phone call. Dealer minimums are set by the dealer and they function as a gate, not a suggestion, and the IRS imposes no such floor of its own.
There is a complication specific to Noble Gold that we will not paper over. Its published minimum is the least stable number in our dataset. Figures of $2,000 and $10,000 circulate alongside the roughly $20,000 we rank on, and part of that spread is innocent, because the threshold for a direct cash purchase is lower than the threshold for a retirement account, and pages quoting the low number are often describing the wrong product. Part of it is simply stale copy propagating across the affiliate web. Either way the burden lands on you, and the fix is one sentence in an email: ask for the current IRA minimum in writing before you plan around any figure, ours included.
Goldco is steadier here, though not immune. Some publications quote a Goldco entry point below $25,000, and minimums do move with promotions and account type. Our guide to gold IRA minimum investment explains where these floors come from and how much room there usually is inside them. The practical rule for both firms is the same: a number you read is a starting position, and a number a representative writes down for you is a term.
If you land in the band between the two gates, resist the instinct to close the gap with fresh cash simply to reach the firm you liked the look of. Both companies accept the same funding routes, a 401(k), a 403(b), a TSP or an existing IRA, so the size of your rollover is set by the account you already hold rather than by anything either dealer decides. Topping up an account to clear a dealer's threshold means committing more of your savings to a single asset class for a reason that has nothing to do with your allocation, which is the wrong order of operations. Fund what your plan holds, then pick from the firms that accept it.
We use $50,000 because it clears both gates comfortably, so the arithmetic describes a real account rather than a hypothetical one. Both firms charge flat dollars covering the custodian and the vault rather than a percentage of your balance, which is the structure that rewards a long holder, since the invoice does not grow when the gold does. Neither firm publishes the dollar amount, so both columns below are modeled at $225 a year, the flat assumption our gold IRA fees guide applies to a typical account. That $225 is our placeholder on both sides. It is not a quote from either company.
| COST LINE ON $50,000 | NOBLE GOLD (MODELED, NOT A QUOTE) | GOLDCO (MODELED, NOT A QUOTE) |
|---|---|---|
| Setup charge | Not published, modeled at $0 | Not published, modeled at $0 |
| First year | $225 | $225 |
| Years one to five, cumulative | $1,125 | $1,125 |
| Years one to ten, cumulative | $2,250 | $2,250 |

| How much of this is published | The structure only | The structure only |
| What could move your real number | Segregated storage at the Texas or Delaware vault, billed by the depository | Segregated storage at Delaware or Brink's, billed by the depository |
Source: illustrative projection, not a quote from either company. Both columns modeled at $225 a year because neither Noble Gold Investments nor Goldco publishes a dollar figure for custodian plus storage; the modeling assumption comes from our gold IRA fees guide and is applied identically to both. Fee structures verified Jun 2026. Excludes the dealer markup over spot, wire charges and any segregated-storage premium. Price your own quotes with the gold IRA fee calculator.
So who is cheaper over ten years? On published figures, neither, and that is not a dodge. When two companies both decline to print a number, a comparison page has three options: invent figures, copy figures from another affiliate, or say plainly that the question is unanswerable until you hold two written quotes. We are taking the third. The dead heat in that table is manufactured by our own assumption, and we would rather show you the assumption than dress it up as research.
What the table does settle is disclosure, and there the two are not level. Goldco names Equity Trust and STRATA Trust as custodians and names two depository networks, so you can look up the schedule that will bill your account for as long as you hold it. Noble Gold names its vaults but not its custodian, which means the entity that sets your recurring administration fee is unknown to you until the paperwork arrives. The dealer's pricing is a conversation. The custodian's schedule is the thing you actually live with, and one of these firms lets you research it in advance.
One structural point works in your favour at both firms and deserves stating before the sensitivity table, because it is the reason we push flat pricing so hard. A percentage-of-assets arrangement takes a larger invoice from you in exactly the years your metal has done well, which is a peculiar way to be charged for a service that has not changed. Flat dollars do the opposite. At the modeled $225 a year, a $50,000 account carries 0.45 percent of drag; the same $225 on a $150,000 account is 0.15 percent, and on a position that appreciates over a decade the effective rate falls further every year without anybody renegotiating anything. Neither Noble Gold nor Goldco charges a percentage, so on this specific question the two are aligned and both are on the right side of it.
The sensitivity table below is the one to take into both phone calls. Ten years of a flat fee is straightforward multiplication, so the only variable that matters is the annual number you are quoted, and small gaps stay small.
| IF THE QUOTE COMES BACK AT | FIRST YEAR | FIVE YEARS | TEN YEARS | WHAT THAT GAP IS WORTH |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $180 a year | $180 | $900 | $1,800 | The floor of what a flat gold IRA schedule tends to cost across the field we track |
| $225 a year | $225 | $1,125 | $2,250 | Our modeling rate, and the midpoint of this table |
| $275 a year | $275 | $1,375 | $2,750 | $500 more than the $225 case across the decade, or $50 a year |
| $325 a year | $325 | $1,625 | $3,250 | $1,450 more than the $180 case, the widest realistic spread on this page |
Source: arithmetic on four hypothetical annual quotes, none of them published by either company. Illustrative only, assumes no setup charge and no fee waiver at either firm. For context on what the vault charges inside that figure, our storage guide records the Delaware Depository listing 8 basis points a year for commingled metal, minimum $95, and 16 basis points for segregated, minimum $190. Fees verified Jun 2026, confirm current pricing.
Now hold that widest realistic spread, $1,450 over ten years, against two numbers from outside the fee table. First, the markup: buy $50,000 of metal at two percentage points more over spot than you needed to and you have spent $1,000 on day one, before a single annual invoice arrives. Second, Goldco's promotion: up to 10 percent back in free silver on a qualifying order tops out around $5,000 of metal on $50,000, and while part of that value is recovered through the wider spread on the premium coins that qualify, the remainder is still real bullion that Noble Gold does not offer at all. Both of those numbers are larger than the entire decade of fees this section has been arguing about. Price the metal first, then the fees.
You get to pick the vault, and almost nowhere else offers that. Most gold IRA dealers route every client to one depository and describe it as the arrangement rather than an option. Noble Gold offers International Depository Services in Texas alongside the Delaware Depository, and references a Canadian facility as well, which is the widest published set of choices among the ten providers we track. Be clear about what that buys, though. It does not make the metal safer, because all of these are insured, audited commercial vaults with long clean records. It buys optionality: proximity if you ever want to inspect holdings or take an in-kind distribution in person, jurisdictional preference if you hold a considered view about where assets should sit, and the plain difference between deciding and being assigned.
The gate is roughly $5,000 lower. For the saver moving $20,000 to $24,000, this is not a tiebreaker, it is the whole page. Noble Gold accepts the account and Goldco does not.
A complaint record that is quiet by the standards of the category. Around five complaints on file at the BBB since accreditation in 2017 is a small number for a firm handling retirement-sized transactions, and it fits what our researchers found about the sales approach, which is calm in a business that often is not. Accreditation itself is a paid membership and proves nothing; the letter grade and the complaint history are the parts carrying information.
Deliverable metal as a separate product line. Noble Gold sells Royal Survival Packs, pre-selected bundles of coins and bars shipped to your door. If you want both a compliant retirement account and metal you can physically hold, one relationship covers both. Two warnings attach. These packs are not an IRA product, and taking personal delivery of metal held inside an IRA is treated as a distribution, a position the Tax Court set out in McNulty v. Commissioner. And packs lean on fractional coins, which carry a structurally higher premium over spot than one-ounce bullion, so they are a more expensive way to buy an ounce. That is arithmetic, not a trick, but it should be a decision rather than a surprise.
The exit is documented, and almost nobody thinks about the exit. Every gold IRA eventually has to be unwound, and the fear worth having about bullion is not price, it is owning something with no willing buyer at a fair number. Goldco markets a buyback commitment as a headline feature and attaches a specific, checkable condition to the strongest version of it: the highest-price guarantee applies after three years from purchase, and before that you are quoted at prevailing rates. That condition is a limitation, and we would rather have a limitation written down than a warm assurance with nothing behind it. Noble Gold operates a buyback program too, and describes it in looser terms.
You can find out who your custodian will be before you sign. Goldco works with Equity Trust and STRATA Trust, and stores at the Delaware Depository and Brink's Global Services. Naming those partners lets you read the custodian's own schedule rather than the dealer's summary of it, and that schedule outlives every promotion in this industry. Noble Gold does not name a custodian publicly, so the same research is not available to you.
Twenty years of doing the paperwork. Goldco has been selling metals since 2006 against Noble Gold's 2016. Longevity guarantees nothing on its own, but a rollover is a chain of handoffs between a plan administrator, a custodian, a dealer and a vault, and the firms that run that chain constantly run it faster. If your rollover has a deadline attached, operational repetition has real value.
The only promotion with cash value on this page. Up to 10 percent back in free silver on qualifying purchases is genuine metal, and Noble Gold advertises no equivalent. The qualifying products are premium coins that carry wider spreads, so part of the bonus is funded by what you pay on the order. The honest test is to price the same dollar amount twice, once as plain bullion with no bonus and once as qualifying coins with the silver attached, then compare the ounces you end up owning. A representative willing to run that comparison is telling you something. So is one who steers away from it. Promotional tiers change often, so treat any figure as the opening of a conversation.
Both firms hold an A+ grade at the Better Business Bureau, and the raw complaint counts mislead in both directions if you stop there. Goldco's profile records 48 complaints closed over three years with all of them resolved, against accreditation dating to 2011. Noble Gold's listing shows around five, against accreditation from 2017. Forty-eight is not alarming for a firm of Goldco's size and age, and five is not proof of superiority for a firm that has been trading for a fraction of the time and at smaller volume. Resolution rate and recurring themes carry the information. Read the actual complaint texts.
Review platform averages need the same discipline, and they run in Noble Gold's favour on the raw figures: roughly 4.9 out of 5 on Trustpilot against roughly 4.4 for Goldco. Before you weight that gap, understand what produces it. Dealers across this category solicit reviews at the moment the purchase closes, which is the point of maximum goodwill and long before any customer has tried to sell metal back, take a distribution or query an annual invoice. A younger firm with fewer accounts and a shorter tail of post-purchase experience will tend to score higher on that mechanism alone. The useful reading is not the average but the substance of the lowest-scored reviews at each firm, and whether the complaints describe pricing surprises, communication after the sale, or delivery timing.
Two claims you will meet while researching Goldco deserve careful handling. A 2023 lawsuit under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act is referenced widely across the affiliate landscape. We could not verify that docket against a primary court source, so we report it as unverified rather than as fact, and we would point out that the TCPA governs how companies place calls and texts. It is a marketing-practices statute, not a fraud statute. An allegation, a finding, and a settlement reached without any admission of liability are three genuinely different things, and the affiliate web routinely collapses them into one.
The second is celebrity advertising. Goldco's marketing features well-known names including Sean Hannity and Chuck Norris. The weight that deserves in your decision is zero. A paid endorsement is an advertising line item, and the SEC Office of Investor Education and Advocacy has warned repeatedly that celebrity association is no substitute for examining costs and risks yourself. Neither company has a verified enforcement action against it in the CFTC or SEC material we reviewed, and if that changes we will say so here.
| YOUR SITUATION | THE PICK | WHY, IN ONE LINE |
|---|---|---|
| Rolling over $20,000 to $24,000 | Noble Gold Investments | Goldco's gate is above your balance, so this decides itself. |
| First precious-metals account, $25,000 or more | Goldco | Named custodians, a written buyback condition and two decades of rollover repetition. |
| You want the metal vaulted in Texas | Noble Gold Investments | International Depository Services is an option here and is not offered by Goldco. |
| Your main worry is selling later | Goldco | The highest-price guarantee is conditional, but it is written down and dated. |
| You want a fee schedule you can audit first | Neither | Both leave the annual number off the public record. Two firms in our field publish theirs. |
| You want platinum or palladium too | Neither, from Goldco | Goldco covers gold and silver only, so a four-metal portfolio needs a different provider. |
| You also want deliverable metal at home | Noble Gold Investments | Royal Survival Packs sit outside the IRA entirely, which is the point and the caveat. |
| A gold IRA would be most of your savings | Neither | Metal pays no yield. A modest slice of a diversified plan, or nothing. |

It depends on which problem you are solving. Goldco carries the stronger overall record on our rankings, scoring 9.4 against Noble Gold's 8.8, and it is the better answer if your worry is selling later, because it names its custodians, names two vault networks and markets a buyback commitment with a stated three-year condition on its highest-price guarantee. Noble Gold is the better answer if you want a say in which depository holds your metal, since it offers International Depository Services in Texas alongside Delaware, or if your balance sits between roughly $20,000 and roughly $25,000, where Goldco is simply not open to you. Neither firm publishes an annual fee schedule, so neither can be declared cheaper before you collect quotes. Verified Jun 2026.
Our dataset carries Noble Gold Investments at approximately $20,000 and Goldco at approximately $25,000, both verified Jun 2026. Treat both figures as starting points rather than settled facts. Reported minimums for Noble Gold vary more than for almost any other firm we track, with public sources citing $2,000, $10,000 and $20,000, partly because the non-IRA purchase threshold is lower than the retirement account threshold. Goldco minimums are also quoted below $25,000 in some publications. These are dealer-set floors, not an IRS rule, and they move with promotions, so ask a representative for the current number in writing before you plan a rollover around it.
Nobody can answer that from public information, including us, and any page that gives you a confident number is guessing. Both firms bill flat annual amounts covering the custodian and the depository rather than a percentage of your balance, which is the structure we prefer for a long hold. Neither publishes the dollar amount. That means the ten-year fee comparison on this page is modeled on both sides at the same rate and comes out level by construction. Get both quotes in writing, include the setup charge and any segregated-storage premium, and remember that a two percentage point difference in markup over spot on a $50,000 order is $1,000 on day one, which is more than the plausible decade-long fee gap between these two firms.
Goldco, for most first-timers who can fund roughly $25,000. A beginner is buying process more than product, and Goldco has been running rollovers since 2006, names Equity Trust and STRATA Trust as custodians, and gives you a documented exit route before you have any experience judging one. Noble Gold suits a beginner who has a specific reason to care where the metal sits, since the choice of a Texas vault or Delaware is the clearest thing it offers. The caution for beginners applies to both: the free silver on qualifying Goldco purchases runs through premium coins with wider spreads, and neither firm will hand you an annual fee schedule without a phone call.
Both give you more room than most of the field, and Noble Gold gives you the most. Noble Gold offers International Depository Services in Texas alongside the Delaware Depository and references a Canadian facility, which is the widest published set of options among the ten providers we track. Goldco works with the Delaware Depository and Brink's Global Services, so you have two networks rather than an assignment. In every case the metal is held by an IRS-approved depository under a third-party custodian, never at your home, and the storage type matters as much as the address. Confirm in writing whether your holding is segregated or commingled, because segregated costs more and the difference is billed by the vault, not the dealer.
